Portal Counseling Services

A person with short brown hair and fair skin looks forward with an open mouth smile. They are wearing a blue button-up shirt and small gold earrings. The background is a blurred woods scene.

Therapy can be an adventure: embracing the unknown, facing down fear together with courage, discovering your hidden resources, and exploring the landscape of your one wild and meaningful life.

When we move together with purpose into the past or future to find and face what is standing in the way of your natural healing processes, the present can become a place you might want to stay in and enjoy.

My work is to create a safe enough space, have your back when you need support, bring the tools you might need, and guide with insight as you find your way forward.

An open door like a portal with layers of sparkling blue, green, and orange inside. A little blue bird sits on top and greenery surrounds it.

Who I Am

I am an associate-level licensed clinical mental health counselor in Washington state. I work in private practice and am contracted with Mindful Therapy Group. I receive supervision from Lonnie Renteria, MA, LMHC, CCTP.

I primarily work by integrating acceptance and commitment therapy, schema therapy, parts work, narrative counseling, and holistic mind/body counseling with a trauma-informed lens.

Many mental health challenges are deeply rooted in the trauma that results from societal inequalities and systemic injustices.

Instead of labeling you by your symptoms, I believe it is important to explore the broader context in which your struggles have arisen, such as societal discrimination, trauma, family history, and your ability to access resources.

From here, we do the transformative work of building your connection to your personal strengths, your resilience, the wholeness of your body, your sense of community, your confidence, and your self-love.

My in-person and telehealth services offer an integrative approach to mental health care for difficulties such as post-traumatic stress, depression, anxiety, and difficult life transitions, while remaining open to different presenting concerns.

I currently see individual adults and youth ages 10 and up and offer appointments in the mornings and early afternoons Monday, through Friday.

It is important that you feel safe enough to explore all relevant parts of your experience in therapy, regardless of who you are or who you love.

This practice is affirming of LGBTQIA2S+ identities and expressions and committed to understanding and honoring various marginalized experiences.
